RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance protocols and measures to meet and exceed regulatory standards and customer expectations.
- Lead and manage the quality assurance team, providing guidance and training to ensure compliance with internal standards and external regulations.
- Conduct and oversee regular quality audits and inspections of processes, products, and equipment to identify areas for improvement.
- Collaborate with production and operations teams to implement quality control measures throughout the manufacturing process.
- Manage and resolve quality-related issues, implementing corrective and preventive actions to mitigate risks and ensure continuous improvement.
- Oversee the management of certifications and documentation required for compliance with national and international food safety standards (e.g., HACCP, ISO, FDA, USDA).
- Liaise with suppliers to ensure raw materials meet quality specifications and standards.
- Coordinate with regulatory bodies and participate in external audits to maintain certifications and compliance.
- Analyze quality data and reports to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
- Stay abreast of industry developments, trends, and regulations to continuously refine quality management practices.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in quality management within the meat manufacturing or processing industry.
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and regulations (e.g., HACCP, ISO 22000, FSMA).
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working cross-functionally to achieve quality objectives.
- Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to identifying and solving quality issues.
- Proficiency in quality management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
