Responsibilities:
- Determine assembly methods for both simple and complex automotive electrical/electronic assemblies, including testing and inspection operations.
- Collaborate with internal and external manufacturers to specify and commission manufacturing equipment.
- Design plant layouts for new equipment.
- Work closely with Quality Engineering and Manufacturing departments to identify the root cause of non-conforming products and develop and implement countermeasures.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities in areas of responsibility.
- Develop and maintain Process Flow Diagrams, PFMEA, and packaging plans for assigned projects.
- Participate in and lead the development of standardized work, job instructions, and operator aids.
- Collaborate with the tool shop to design and build fixtures and assembly aids.
Qualifications:
- Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology
- Must have 10+ years of work experience in manufacturing (automotive industry)
- Must be Proficient in Microsoft Office and 2D and 3D CAD
- Skilled in conducting manufacturing time studies (TAKT time, cycle time, elemental studies)
- Knowledgeable in plastic joining techniques (ultrasonic welding, vibration welding, etc.)
- Experienced in electrical assembly test methods (continuity, Hipot, etc.)
- Well-versed in lean manufacturing principles
- Strong foundation in statistics and data analysis techniques
- Proven experience in leading teams and driving actionable results
- Highly organized and efficient; a self-starter with problem-solving abilities and foresight to anticipate and avoid issues
- Exceptional organizational and efficiency skills with strong attention to detail
- Capable of interfacing with a wide array of individuals and departments, balancing multiple tasks while maintaining a positive attitude and energy
- Strong team player with a solid work ethic and a commitment to success.
