RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct innovative research on solvent extraction processes applicable to renewable energy resources. Develop and optimize extraction methods for efficiency, yield, and sustainability.
- Design and perform complex experiments to test the feasibility of new extraction technologies and methods.
- Analyze experimental data, interpret results, and provide actionable insights.
- Work closely with process engineers to scale up successful extraction techniques from the lab to pilot and production scales. Identify and troubleshoot process bottlenecks for continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including biochemists, process engineers, and project managers, to achieve project goals and timelines. Participate in team meetings and contribute to technical discussions.
- Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory records. Prepare technical reports, research papers, and presentations to communicate findings to internal stakeholders and the wider scientific community.
- Ensure all research activities comply with environmental regulations and safety standards. Promote a culture of safety within the laboratory environment.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field with a focus on lithium chemistry, solvent extraction, or hydrometallurgy.
- A minimum of 2 years of relevant research experience, preferably in a renewable energy or bio-based products context.
- Demonstrated expertise in solvent extraction techniques and a solid understanding of organic chemistry principles.
- Experience with analytical techniques such as HPLC, GC-MS, and NMR preferred.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently on complex research projects.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with proficiency in presenting scientific data and concepts.
- Familiarity with laboratory safety protocols and environmental regulations
