RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Examine construction plans, details, and figures to ensure accuracy in drafting and design.
- Enhance architectural plans by incorporating additional details and specifications.
- Review data provided by senior technical staff and Project Managers (PMs), analyze the information, and assess compliance with standards and design concepts.
- Convert preliminary designs, sketches, and notes into finalized plan drawings.
- Create engineering drawings for both initial and final plan sets, working closely with other drafters and engineers to maintain design consistency.
- Contribute to the development of technical documents and reports.
- Assist engineers with civil grading design for substation sites.
- Support engineers in the steel design for high-voltage substation sites.
- Utilize computer-aided design (CAD) software to develop detailed drawings and plans.
- Utilize various applications to produce drawings, reports, and other technical deliverables tailored to project specifications.
- Identify and analyze technical issues; propose new or improved methods, approaches, and solutions; and communicate these recommendations to supervisors for approval and implementation.
- Work collaboratively with architects and engineers on project design and execution.
- Assess and select appropriate sizes and materials for products based on project requirements.
- Support the development of preliminary and final layouts, design concepts, and detailed drawings from technical notes, sketches, and other sources, ensuring adherence to company and industry standards.
- Research and acquire relevant standards and codes required by clients and regulatory bodies.
- Collaborate with PMs and technical staff to understand project scope, schedule, and budget constraints.
- Other tasks as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
- Must have certification in AutoCAD Design.
- Grading, drainage, site layout, erosion, sediment control, etc.
- Experience in substation physical design desired.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
