RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Monitor and interpret patients' cardiac rhythms; recognize and promptly address any arrhythmias or changes in cardiac status.
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, and develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans based on patient needs.
- Administer medications, IVs, and other treatments as prescribed, monitoring patients for reactions and effectiveness.
- Provide education and support to patients and their families regarding cardiac conditions, treatments, and lifestyle adjustments.
- Coordinate with healthcare team members to facilitate holistic care and timely interventions.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.
- Participate in continuous education and training to enhance nursing knowledge and skills, particularly in the areas of telemetry and cardiac care.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current RN license in New York or eligibility for licensure.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience, with a strong preference for experience in an operating room or surgical setting.
- BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred.
- CNOR certification is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-stress environment.
