Job Description

Job Responsibilities:
- Evaluate available supply channels to increase product value and reduce production cost
- Negotiate contracts with outside vendors
- Establish material and equipment budget
- Monitor inventory and storage of raw materials for manufacturing
- Develop and implement purchasing policies and procedures
- Overall Supplier performance
- Key market impacts on supply
- Inventory
- Optimize sourcing procedures to attain maximum efficiency
- Generate and implement efficient sourcing and category management strategies
- Analyze and calculate costs of procurement and suggest methods to decrease expenditure
- Previous experience as a purchasing agent or other related fields
- BA/BS (business related area preferred)
- Coordinate and supervise all aspects of purchasing and material planning
- Source and qualify potential suppliers
- Inventory
- Manage purchase orders
- Excellent negotiating, analytical and communication skills, both verbal & written
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multi-task and adjust to changing priorities and short deadlines
- Must be able to work independently and also in a hard-working, supportive team
- Must use good judgment and creative/strategic business skills in solving problems
- Strong computer skills (MS Word, Excel, etc.)
- High energy, proactive, self-motivated and a team player
- Maintain material specifications and historical pricing of all direct material.
