RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Must provide anticipatory guidance, screening, and health education to patients to promote and maintain health.
  • Must initiate treatment for patients with commonly occurring health problems which lie within the nurse specialist's scope of practice by using a systematic approach to history and physical appraisal of patients or families through clinical judgment of evaluated data.
  • Must be able to prescribe, coordinate, delegate and evaluate care.
  • Must be able to prescribe medications listed in the approved institutional formulary as a function delegated by the physician consultant(s) to the practice.
  • Must monitor patients with stabilized long term or chronic illness.
  • Plan appropriate care utilizing community resources and act as a liaison by relaying information necessary for continuity of care to other health professionals and agencies.
  • Must be able to instruct individual or families or groups about health or defined health problems.
  • Participate in Quality Assurance activities and research projects.
  • Must aid in a courteous, quick manner; treats others with care and respect maintaining privacy, confidentiality and dignity and maintain a professional appearance and a clean, safe environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must have a Bachelor of Science or higher degree programs in nursing or diploma programs in nursing and/or associate degree programs in nursing. Master's degree in nursing with advanced skills in physical assessment is preferred.
  • Must have a valid DEA/NPI number from the state of NY.
  • Minimum of 3 years clinical nursing experience from the state of NY
  • Must be willing to travel to both Brooklyn and Manhattan centers as needed.
  • Must be skilled in making diagnosis and providing appropriate treatment for medical or surgical emergencies (life or death or severe injury), until emergency assistance arrives.
  • Must have knowledge of pharmaceuticals to treat disease and illnesses, to include a knowledge of the mechanism of action, side effects, toxic nature, and drug interactions of medications.
  • Ability to perform and interpret diagnostic tests to determine therapeutic treatment plans.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to work productively with patient, families, nursing staff, and other departments.
  • Must be proficient in using computers and computerized programs.
  • Bilingual is a plus.
  • Must be fully vaccinated and willing to work on-site.

Physical Requirements:
  • Indoor ambience might be noisy; might be exposed to contaminants/disease or infections.
  • Standing; sitting; using hands on objects, tools or controls is required.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
Salary: $115K-$130K
