RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee the timely processing of all invoices, purchase orders, expense reports, and payment transactions.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all accounts payable transactions.
- Develop, implement, and maintain systems, procedures, and policies to ensure adherence to company guidelines.
- Manage monthly closing of financial records and posting of month-end information; ensure accuracy of financial statements.
- Provide detailed analysis and explanation of all transactions as required.
- Prepare and present reports detailing accounts payable status to company executives and external auditors.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local financial legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to requirements, and advising management on needed actions.
- Enhance and implement financial and accounting systems, processes, tools, and control systems.
- Serve as a liaison between the company and external vendors regarding accounts payable matters.
- Handle complex and escalated issues from team members.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounts payable or general accounting, with at least 2 years in a managerial position.
- Experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, compliance, and financial reporting.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficient in using financial software and advanced Excel skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
