RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The Associate General Counsel (Litigation) must assist with managing the Company’s litigation, including professional liability and general liability claims, class action claims, employment litigation, contractual disputes, internal investigations, periodic reporting, and other litigation matters.
- Must assist in designing and overseeing the company’s regulatory compliance program.
- Must identify, design, develop processes and tools, on behalf of the Legal Department
- Must partner with internal and external stakeholders, partners and outside counsel to manage risk effectively.
- Must prepare and attend arbitrations, mediations, settlements conferences, critical depositions, significant hearings, and trials.
- The Associate General Counsel (Litigation) must provide legal advice across all business units of the Company, including sales, marketing, engineering, production management, and finance, among others.
- Must review, negotiation, drafting and management of contracts, including vendor contracts, real estate agreements, strategic partnerships, and government contracts.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- The Associate General Counsel (Litigation) must hold a J.D. degree.
- Must have admission to any state bar or the District of Columbia bar.
- Must have a minimum of 10+ years of experience in litigation practice at a law firm or in-house environment, with experience in product liability claims.Â
- The Associate General Counsel (Litigation) must be process oriented and able to lead and effect process changes and improvements.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Suites.
- Experience with insured litigation and claims disputes preferred.
- Excellent communication skills.
