RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Safely operate a tractor-trailer to transport goods to and from specified locations in a timely manner.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and federal, state, and local regulations pertaining to driving and cargo transportation.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety and report any issues or concerns.
- Maintain accurate logs of working hours and vehicle service or repair status, adhering to DOT regulations.
- Manage routes and routines to optimize efficiency and fuel consumption while adhering to customer schedules and delivery requirements.
- Coordinate with the logistics team to track deliveries and troubleshoot any issues that arise on the road.
- Maintain communication with dispatch to report progress and any issues such as delays, accidents, or vehicle breakdowns.
- Ensure cargo is secured properly in accordance with safety requirements and manage paperwork related to each haul.
- Provide excellent customer service during pick-up and delivery, representing the company in a professional manner.
- Responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently to various destinations across Oregon, Washington, Idaho, Utah, Nevada, California, and Arizona
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 2 years of proven experience in long haul truck driving, preferably covering multiple states.
- Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and safety standards.
- Ability to drive long hours and travel regularly.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- High physical stamina and the ability to handle physical load requirements.
- Good communication skills and a positive, problem-solving attitude.
- Knowledge of electronic equipment and software (GPS, AVL units, CB, etc.).
