RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Set up and operate manual machines (lathes, mills, grinders, etc.) and CNC equipment (lathes, milling machines, grinders).
- Verify accuracy of documentation and inspection tools before starting jobs.
- Conduct inspections to ensure parts meet blueprint tolerances and quality standards.
- Assist in fabricating tools and fixtures as needed.
- Deburr machined parts to meet specifications.
- Record labor time and manufacturing documentation accurately.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex machining issues, suggesting process improvements.
- Maintain a clean, safe workspace and perform basic preventative maintenance.
- Provide technical training and mentoring to shop personnel on CNC equipment.
- Uphold quality and productivity standards and foster a positive work environment.
- Adhere to safety policies and promote a safe working atmosphere.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 7-10 years of experience with manual machines and CNC equipment, including setup and operation.
- Ability to work independently from blueprints and instructions.
- Experience mentoring and training shop personnel.
- Proficiency with shop inspection tools and methodologies.
- Advanced understanding of GD&T, metal cutting, and tooling principles.
- Skills in Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, CAD, and SolidWorks are advantageous.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential.
- Strong communication, interpersonal skills, and teamwork capabilities.
- Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles for continuous improvement.
- Ability to read and interpret safety guidelines and technical documents.
- Basic computer skills required.
