RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design, implement, and evaluate clinical education programs, including orientation, in-service training, workshops, and continuing education for the nursing staff in the Emergency Department.
- Conduct needs assessments to identify educational requirements and gaps in clinical practice.
- Collaborate with departmental leaders to develop educational strategies that improve patient outcomes and enhance the quality of care.
- Serve as a mentor and resource for nursing staff, offering guidance and support in their professional development.
- Stay abreast of the latest clinical trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements affecting emergency nursing care.
- Facilitate learning through a variety of methods, including simulation training, classroom instruction, and bedside teaching.
- Participate in the evaluation and competency assessment of nursing staff.
- Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure compliance with healthcare standards and regulations.
- Promote a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the Emergency Department.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Current RN license in NY.
- BLS/ACLS certification preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of clinical experience in emergency nursing, with at least 3 years in a teaching or educational role.
- Demonstrated excellence in clinical skills, with a deep understanding of emergency care practices and principles.
- Strong leadership, mentorship, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
- Ability to apply adult learning principles and incorporate this into curriculum development and teaching strategies.
- Proficiency in using educational technology and learning management systems.
