  • Administer, maintain, and support the PACS system, including image workflow, archiving, auto-routing, and prefetching of related prior studies.
  • Collaborate with clinical departments to understand their imaging needs and tailor the PACS functionality to enhance clinical efficiency and patient care.
  • Ensure the integrity and security of patient images and data, in compliance with HIPAA and other relevant regulations.
  • Perform regular system performance checks, troubleshooting, and coordinate with vendors for system upgrades, patches, and fixes.
  • Develop and implement training sessions for clinical staff on the efficient use of the PACS system.
  • Participate in the planning and execution of integration projects for new systems and modalities to the PACS.
  • Liaise with IT infrastructure teams to ensure network performance and hardware are optimized for PACS requirements.
  • Document system configurations, changes, and operational procedures.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Informatics, Computer Science, Radiologic Science, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in PACS administration or clinical informatics within a healthcare setting.
  • Strong understanding of DICOM, HL7, and other imaging communication standards.
  • Experience with IT infrastructure relevant to PACS, including networking, databases, and storage systems.
  • Familiarity with clinical workflows in radiology and other departments utilizing imaging.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Certification in PACS administration (e.g., CIIP or PARCA) is highly desirable.
