Job Overview:
The Continuous Improvement Project Manager plays a crucial role in driving operational efficiency. This position is responsible for developing and implementing continuous improvement initiatives throughout the operation. The ideal candidate will collaborate with multiple teams, offering analysis and feedback on key metrics, projects, budgets, and timelines.
Reporting to: General Manager
Primary Collaboration: Production Team
Key Responsibilities:
- The Continuous Improvement Project Manager will assess department productivity and work closely with operations to design action plans aimed at improving performance.
- Lead or conduct studies to determine the most efficient sequence of operations and workflow.
- Coordinate and manage follow-up actions from assessments and audits through a structured process.
- The Continuous Improvement Project Manager will plan and facilitate cost-saving initiatives by leading various Lean and Six Sigma projects.
- Collect and analyze production data, monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), and identify opportunities for improvement at the plant level.
- Develop and maintain a continuous improvement suggestion system, ensuring daily usage and rapid implementation of actionable items.
- The Continuous Improvement Project Manager will implement continuous improvement ideas through visible and functional displays, ensuring progress toward meeting KPI goals.
Qualifications:
- The Continuous Improvement Project Manager must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or a related field.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in process improvement, within precast/engineering manufacturing, with a proven track record of assisting organizations in bringing new products to market.
- Exceptional analytical and problem-solving abilities, with great attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively within a team environment.
- Proven experience leading and participating in continuous improvement (CI) events, with a solid understanding of Kaizen tools such as value stream mapping, fishbone diagrams, PDCA, and SMED.
- Lean Six Sigma certification (or the ability to obtain a Green Belt certification within six months).
- Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced and constantly evolving environment.
