RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The Controller will complete month-end and year-end closing requirements for the businesses including closing entries and reporting packages.
- Must manage department employees of 6 or less and is responsible for the overall department direction, coordination, and evaluation.
- Provide accurate information and reports for business KPI’s that enable operating teams to track and measure performance.
- Prepares forecasted financial statements and annual budgets for the businesses.
- Work with internal and external auditors to support annual audits.
- Must participate in implementation of continuous improvement initiatives.
- Analyze customer and product sales, margins, and profitability in support of reported results and strategies.
- Recommends market pricing actions by analyzing cost inflation data.
- Improve financial status by analyzing results; monitoring variances; identifying trends; recommending actions to management.
- The Controller must increase productivity by developing automated accounting applications and coordinating information requirements.
- Maintains capital assets and depreciation.
- Must take part in the hiring process.
- Must follow policies and procedures; completes administrative tasks correctly and on time; supports organization’s goals and values; benefits organization through outside activities; supports affirmative action and respects diversity.
- Observe safety & security procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- The Controller must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting/Finance.
- Must have 5-7 years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong analytical skills, solid attention to detail with excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Must have strong mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
- The Controller must be able to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
- Strong computer skills with knowledge of Inventory software.
- Must be willing to work onsite full-time.
