RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The Crisis Clinician is responsible for providing mental health consultations to the Emergency Department (ED) as requested.
- Must adhere to treatment history of the patient by interviewing, secure information and provide to family as appropriate.
- Any clinical information including diagnostic impressions and recommended disposition is communicated to the ED physician and supervising psychiatrist.
- Ensure documentation is updated and correct.
- The Crisis Clinician, when not engaged directly in conducting ED consultations, the ESC may assist with programming on the inpatient Behavioral Health Unit.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- The Crisis Clinician must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related field.
- Certification as an MSW in New York or Licensed RN in New York
- Must have a minimum of 1 year of experience in a behavioral health setting.
- Must hold a current license as a registered professional nurse (RN) in New York with a minimum of 3 years of experience in psychiatric nursing.
- A Master's degree in Social Work or related field strongly preferred.
- Must be flexible in shift and schedule.
