Responsibilities:
- The Diesel Mechanic will operate machinery, tools, and portable power equipment.
- Be proactive in fixing equipment and systems when issues arise.
- Will train service technicians and assist in other areas as needed.
- The Diesel Mechanic will work safely and be able to work and interpret wiring and 3-phase electrical equipment.
- Exhibit strong customer relations skills and communicate with them in a timely manner.
- Will be on an on-call rotation schedule.
- Will take preventative maintenance steps by doing minor repairs and troubleshooting regulators, filtration, electric motors, diesel engines, air compressor pumps, and related components.
- Maintains a safe environment by staying mindful of all personnel, surroundings and safely operating the equipment.
Requirements:
- High school Diploma or GED.
- 3 years of experience repairing and troubleshooting equipment.
- Military Experience is a plus.
- Experience working with air compressor systems and generators.
- Knowledge of computer tracking systems and on-line technical manuals.
- Ability to kneel, crouch, crawl, stand, sit walk, stoop, climb, and balance.
- Able to lift to 50 lbs. occasionally lifting 100 lbs. with assistance from others.
- Comfortable with being exposed to airborne particles, fumes, moving machine parts, and outside weather conditions.
- Can work in areas of high temperatures.
- Able to climb ladders and various equipment.
- Experience using air piping and high-pressure air compressors.
- Can troubleshoot equipment for failures whether Electrical or Mechanical.
