Responsibilities:
- Diesel Mechanic will prepare the mix rolling stock and ensure it is maintained mechanically to safety standards.
- Oversee fleet of trucks to ensure vehicles are available when needed, and preventive maintenance is being taken and or scheduled.
- Diesel Mechanic will be a point of contact with customers, deliveries and vendors staying professional and respectful.
- Ensure that the crew are using correct practices and procedures when operating equipment.
- Lead monthly safety meetings, collect feedback, and document important training needs and reinforcements.
- Adhere to daily vehicle inspection, coordinate with the Operations Manager on concerns and maintenance.
- Properly complete maintenance tasks keeping in mind efficiency and accuracy over speed.
- Identify operating errors and communicate these issues to the Plant Management team to take action right away.
- Conduct preventative maintenance program to minimize unexpected repairs and issues with fleet.
- Investigate and document root cause analysis when problems with fleet are reported to prevent future issues or accidents.
- Complete all required documents on each shift as required by company policy.
- Ensure all parts and products are stored safely and neatly and debris is cleared from the floors.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Degree in Diesel Technology is a plus
- 4 years of Diesel Mechanic experience is required
- Steering system diagnosis.
- Quality control.
- Knowledge of engine repair and performance
- Must be able to manage crew.
- Equipment calibration.
- Knowledge of basic hand tools.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
