Responsibilities:
  • Diesel Mechanic will prepare the mix rolling stock and ensure it is maintained mechanically to safety standards.
  • Oversee fleet of trucks to ensure vehicles are available when needed, and preventive maintenance is being taken and or scheduled.
  • Diesel Mechanic will be a point of contact with customers, deliveries and vendors staying professional and respectful.
  • Ensure that the crew are using correct practices and procedures when operating equipment.
  • Lead monthly safety meetings, collect feedback, and document important training needs and reinforcements.
  • Adhere to daily vehicle inspection, coordinate with the Operations Manager on concerns and maintenance.
  • Properly complete maintenance tasks keeping in mind efficiency and accuracy over speed.
  • Identify operating errors and communicate these issues to the Plant Management team to take action right away.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance program to minimize unexpected repairs and issues with fleet.
  • Investigate and document root cause analysis when problems with fleet are reported to prevent future issues or accidents.
  • Complete all required documents on each shift as required by company policy.
  • Ensure all parts and products are stored safely and neatly and debris is cleared from the floors.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Degree in Diesel Technology is a plus
  • 4 years of Diesel Mechanic experience is required
  • Steering system diagnosis.
  • Quality control.
  • Knowledge of engine repair and performance
  • Must be able to manage crew.
  • Equipment calibration.
  • Knowledge of basic hand tools.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
