RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Accountable for achieving US sales targets, forecasting, and ensuring profitability within the MDF/HDF (Medium Density/High Density Fiberboard) business.
- This role focuses entirely on selling products that involve another party’s value in addition to creating finished goods, making it a component supplier-based sales position.
- Collaborate closely with the VP of Sales and Business Development to develop a product range that optimizes factory efficiency and profitability.
- Set, support, and work towards annual objectives in alignment with the EVP of Sales.
- Oversee the introduction of new, strategically important products while maintaining long-term business relationships.
- Build and nurture strong, lasting relationships with merchant partners and supply chain teams.
- Engage in complex sales negotiations and deliver persuasive sales presentations.
- Understand market dynamics, including product assortment, pricing, and emerging trends.
- Actively manage the daily operations of external MDF sales activities.
- Maximize opportunities within manufacturing capabilities.
- Implement a strategic approach to drive sales performance, ensuring alignment with budget targets and product mix optimization.
- Lead regular sales meetings and training sessions.
- Manage gross-to-net programs, rebates, and other investments.
- Execute company objectives, policies, and programs to achieve established goals.
- Prepare and update sales forecasts, adjusting with Demand Planning both internally and with customers.
- Maintain a broad knowledge of products and the MDF industry.
- Provide monthly and quarterly sales analysis, working with the team to adjust necessary to meet the budget.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in the MDF business, with a proven track record of driving business growth. Only candidates with OSB, Particle Board, or MDF sales experience will be considered.
- Experience in "supplier-based sales," with a strong background in program management.
- Solid understanding of analytical skills and forecasting principles.
- Required global travel as needed, with monthly visits to customers and factories.
- College degree or equivalent professional experience.
- In-depth knowledge of the raw board industry and the MDF/Particleboard landscape in the US.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word).
