RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations, including but not limited to echocardiograms, abdominal scans, vascular studies, and other organ-specific ultrasounds as requested by the physician.
- Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process, addressing any concerns, and ensuring comfort throughout the examination.
- Operate ultrasound equipment to capture high-quality images and provide accurate data for interpretation by physicians.
- Review and analyze the images, noting any important findings, and prepare preliminary reports for the interpreting physician.
- Maintain patient records and document all procedures in accordance with facility protocols.
- Ensure the ultrasound equipment is in good working condition, reporting any malfunctions or discrepancies to the appropriate department.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols to protect patients and staff from unnecessary exposure to ultrasound and other potential hazards.
- Participate in continuing education and professional development opportunities to stay abreast of advancements in the field.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Completion of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
- CPR Certification required.
- Current certification as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS), with a specialty in echocardiography preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as an Ultrasound Technologist, with a strong preference for candidates with echocardiography experience.
- Proficient in the use of ultrasound imaging equipment and techniques.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on patient-centered care.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment and collaborate effectively with the healthcare team.
