RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The Financial Controller must identify and implement process improvements throughout the accounting and finance functions.
- Protect assets by establishing and monitoring internal controls.
- Must spearhead the accounting department, including supervision of staff and management of all accounting operations.
- Must lead annual audit, external audit.
- The Financial Controller must manage month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Partner with the CFO to develop and present monthly financial reports for the CEO, Board of Directors, and department leaders.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- The Financial Controller must hold a degree in Finance/Accounting.
- Masters preferred.
- Must have 7+ years of Finance/Accounting experience in a senior profile.
- Strong GAAP experience is a must.
- Must have prior leadership experience.
- Must be able to train, coach, mentor team as needed.
- Must have love and empathy towards animals/pets.
- Work conditions might give an exposure to environmental conditions that include working near animals (including diseased, injured, and/or potentially aggressive animals) and pests.
- Exposure to unpleasant odors (chlorine, other disinfectants, animal waste) and noises.
