RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Utilize basic knowledge of engine and generator mechanical and electrical systems to perform tasks or support others.
  • Conduct basic preventive maintenance and assist with intermediate and advanced corrective maintenance tasks.
  • Replace batteries, belts, and hoses, and handle oil and filter changes or top offs.
  • Accurately complete all service reports, PM checklists, and timecards according to department guidelines, ensuring they are legible and detailed for service accounting needs.
  • Obtain pre-assigned work orders based on schedule date, customer name, and service level, locate and load parts, check for special instructions, travel to job sites, perform the work, and provide detailed computerized reports and timecards upon completion.
  • Work on a flexible schedule and respond to emergency calls as needed.
  • Proficiently evaluate, test, diagnose, and troubleshoot basic and intermediate issues with gas or diesel engines and generators, providing recommendations and making repairs. Communicate, plan, complete, and document all troubleshooting and repair procedures within standard repair times.
  • Perform load bank testing with a thorough understanding of both reactive and resistive testing.
  • Install block heaters and battery chargers.
  • Assist in training and supervising Level I Technicians.
  • Complete all tasks in a neat, orderly, and safe manner, continuously seeking to improve methods and promote safety.
  • Report all unsafe conditions or acts to Management.
  • Wear appropriate PPE when necessary.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must have 2-4 years of Diesel and Gas Technician.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Suite.
  • Must have a Valid Texas driver’s License.
  • Technician must own a Basic wrench 3/8? (Metric & Standard), Basic screwdriver set, Basic pliers set, Filter wrench, Basic Socket Set 3/8” to 1” (Metric & Standard), Allen Wrench Set Up to ½” (Metric & Standard), 3/8? impact, Temperature Gun
