RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • The HR Business Partner must collaborate with business unit management and the union to manage and resolve complex employee relations issues as necessary.
  • Must analyze trends and metrics in partnership with the HR group to develop solutions, programs, and policies.
  • Must conduct employee investigations and recommend solutions to manage concerns, mitigate risks, and support employment decisions.
  • Must adhere to regulatory compliance and partner with the legal department as required.
  • Manage benefits administration to ensure compliance with applicable mandates and company policies.
  • Conduct weekly meetings with respective business units.
  • Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
  • Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation.
  • Must consult with line management, providing HR guidance.
  • The HR Business Partner must provide day-to-day performance management to line management such as coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions etc.
  • Must develop contract terms for new hires, promotions, and transfers.
  • Participate in the evaluation and monitoring of training programs and follow up to ensure training objectives are met.
  • Maintain current knowledge of employment law and company policies, ensuring compliance and best HR practices.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • The HR Business Partner must hold a bachelor’s degree in human resources management, organizational psychology, business administration, or a related field.
  • Preferred if holds a SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential or willing to obtain certification within 1 year of employment.
  • Must have experience working in a unionized environment resolving complex employee relations issues and mitigating risks.
  • Must have a minimum of 8 years of human resources experience with at least 5 years of experience as HR generalist or HR manager.
  • Must have knowledge of global HR disciplines and best practices, including onboarding, compensation practices, benefits administration, employee and union relations, performance management, diversity, equity, inclusivity, and belonging, consultation, compensation, and sound comprehension, interpretation, and application of employment law and business practices.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Skilled project planner.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Human Resources Information Systems, and general office electronic resources.
  • Must be willing to work on-site and be fully vaccinated.
  • Must be willing to travel as necessary and be flexible in schedule.
