Job Responsibilities:
- Ensure food safety and compliance with legal standards.
- Maintain the operation of machinery and equipment by performing preventative maintenance and addressing mechanical issues.
- Identify sources of malfunctions by observing machinery in operation.
- Diagnose electrical issues using a Digital Multimeter (DMM).
- Adhere to lockout/tagout procedures and have the knowledge to develop these procedures.
- Minimize machine downtime by informing production teams and supervisors about scheduled maintenance, and by carrying out necessary repairs.
- Monitor equipment and parts inventory, reporting shortages of supplies or parts needed for repairs.
- Maintain and lubricate machinery, ensuring the correct lubricants are used for specific applications.
- Program Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) on conveyor systems.
- Troubleshoot issues with relays, switches, and motors.
- Perform a variety of tasks related to the maintenance, repair, and installation of equipment.
- Management of chemical and mechanical processes (water, gas, air, hydraulic systems, painting, building repairs, sanitation procedures, calibration, electrical repair, VFDs, etc.).
- Lead and manage advanced projects independently.
- Respond to production calls, prioritizing based on product flow and urgency.
- Foster a positive, collaborative work environment within the department and across teams, promoting teamwork.
- Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Safety Standards (OSHA).
- Apply food safety principles and legal requirements effectively.
- Provide ongoing training to operations teams.
- Assist with tasks as needed to maintain workflow or meet production needs.
- Comply with all safety and GMP protocols, including Lockout/Tagout.
- Support daily operations and performance goals by quickly troubleshooting and repairing equipment to minimize production downtime.
- Complete assigned preventative maintenance tasks.
- Utilize appropriate lubricants for food facilities.
- Other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
- High School Diploma required.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in Industrial Maintenance.
- Strong understanding of electrical safety protocols (including ARCFLASH).
- Experience with lathes, mill, welders.
- Ability to operate a forklift.
- Availability to work extra hours or adjust schedules with minimal notice.
- Drug screening and background check required.
- Electrical experience desired.
