RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The Interventional Radiologic Technologist must partner with the radiologist to perform a variety of specialized, invasive diagnostic and interventional procedures that require using sterile techniques, judgment, ingenuity and radiation protection practices, while responding to the patient’s special, physical, emotional, spiritual or age-specific related needs.
- Provide exceptional patient care, safety, education, radiation protection, and excellent customer service experience during procedures.
- The Interventional Radiologic Technologist must assist in the recovery area for pre and post patient care.
- Must maintain appropriate documentation of patient records especially in the Radiology Information System
- Must participate in all aspects of care of the interventional radiology patient to include pre and post care by supporting the patient care area.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- The Interventional Radiologic Technologist must have a successful completion of an accredited Radiologic Technology Program
- Must have a minimum of 1 year of Radiologic or Interventional technology experience.
- Must have current BLS Certification
- Must have current New York State Radiologic Technologist License
- Must possess Registered Radiologic Technologist with the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT)
- Must have a high level of clinical and professional accountability.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Work effectively during stressful situations
- Must have basic computer skills.
