RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Support the production lead by filling in when they are absent and manage various production tasks.
  • Operate and set up equipment for the blending, mixing, packaging, and transportation of both dry and liquid materials for customer products.
  • Escalate problems or concerns to the Production Lead or Production Managers.
  • Clean machinery as required.
  • Enter and maintain accurate data in systems, ensuring data reliability.
  • Keep detailed records of work activities, including logs and reports.
  • Engage in training, retraining, and ongoing improvement processes.
  • Adhere to all safety regulations and work procedures while maintaining cleanliness in the department.
  • Manage materials and perform additional tasks as needed or assigned.
  • Ensure that products meet customer expectations by being delivered on time and without defects.
  • Temporarily assume the role of Production Lead in their absence.
  • When not covering for the Production Lead, carry out the duties of a Machine Operator.
  • Configure, initiate, and control machinery for mixing, extruding, discharging, or handling materials, ensuring continuous material flow and compliance with operational procedures, safety standards, and ISO requirements.
  • Measure and load ingredients into machinery according to specifications or ensure the delivery and correct placement of pre-mixed materials.
  • Oversee production and equipment to ensure operations are safe and effective.
  • Address and resolve any equipment or process issues that arise.
  • Inspect materials to verify they meet quality standards.
  • Send material samples to the lab for analysis and make necessary adjustments to batches based on lab feedback.
  • Package the final pelletized materials into appropriate containers or bags.
  • Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma required.
  • 3 years’ experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Previous supervisory desired.
  • Demonstrated competency with lean manufacturing concepts.
  • Proficient mechanical skills.
  • Forklift experience.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience with MS Office and Cimpro is desired.
