- Lead contract negotiations and maintain compliance with laws/regulations specific to the retail contracts, food distribution and trading industries.
- Provide comprehensive legal support on various issues, including contract negotiation and regulatory compliance
- Develop and implement legal policies, offer training on legal matters, and manage risk and dispute resolution.
- Oversee ongoing litigation, collections, and the company’s legal affairs.
- Monitor legal developments and advise on compliance with changing laws and regulations
Qualifications
- Experience in commercial contract negotiation, ideally within the food manufacturing industry (e.g., produce, tobacco, dairy)
- Previous litigation experience, including actual trial work in court (not just managing litigation)
- Background in employment law
- Active membership in good standing with the California Bar.
