RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage and oversee all mechanical and electrical operations within the facility.
- Promote a safe work environment for all team members and contractors by enhancing safety practices, supporting corporate safety initiatives, developing standard operating procedures (SOPs), identifying and mitigating hazards, and enforcing safety protocols.
- Create, implement, and lead preventative and predictive maintenance programs along with inventory tracking systems.
- Ensure that the mill meets production priorities by supervising the maintenance team and managing maintenance projects effectively.
- Identify and plan enhancements to improve the mill's efficiency and safety.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure project deadlines are consistently met.
- Develop and enforce adherence to preventative maintenance protocols.
- Supervise and coordinate troubleshooting, repairs, and installation of all mechanical and electrical machinery.
- Assess the production team’s needs and prioritize corrective maintenance accordingly.
- Address recurring downtime issues and work towards their resolution.
- Monitor and manage the inventory of mechanical spare parts and supplies.
- Collaborate with purchasing to ensure timely acquisition of parts and services at competitive prices from vendors.
- Assist in the integration of new technologies and components into operations.
- Conduct equipment inspections to identify potential issues and lead initiatives for solutions.
- Foster continuous improvement initiatives throughout the organization.
- Maintain training records and requirements for millwrights, electricians, and other tradespeople.
- Perform additional tasks as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Excellent troubleshooting abilities with a focus on identifying root causes and implementing effective corrective actions.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in maintaining mechanical and/or electrical industrial systems is preferred.
- At least 3 years of experience in maintenance management, or a combination of relevant experience and training demonstrating the capability to perform essential duties.
- Knowledge of plant equipment, operations, and both predictive and preventative maintenance systems, along with effective project management skills.
- Proficient in MS Office, particularly with intermediate Excel skills.
- Strong attention to detail and self-discipline.
- Exceptional organizational and analytical abilities.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
