RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The Maintenance Manager is responsible for all areas of maintenance and production support.
- Areas of focus include, but are not limited to, employee safety, machinery breakdown root cause analysis, preventive maintenance (PM) schedule management, maintenance department inventory control, and plant capital improvement project management.
- Ensure direct reports are trained in safety standards and maintenance procedures, as well as job-specific responsibilities.
- Must oversee all aspects of machine and building maintenance.
- Supervise maintenance leads as well as general supervision of all maintenance technicians.
- The Maintenance Manager must manage, coordinate, develop, and maintain all preventive maintenance procedures, including scheduling preventive and corrective maintenance work orders and scheduling maintenance-related repairs or minor capital projects performed by contractors.
- Maintain and repair equipment, such as centralized heat, gas, water, electricity, and other systems.
- Must analyze machinery breakdowns and preventive maintenance on all equipment.
- Deal with emergency breakdowns as they occur, with orcs under pressure.
- The Maintenance Manager must maintain an accurate inventory of tools, machinery, cleaning supplies, and related equipment.
- Update and maintain all technical drawings, warranties and maintenance contracts.
- Secure competitive bids for facility maintenance and repair projects.
- Evaluate job performance and training needs for all direct reports.
- Work with the production department to solve mechanical problems related to safety, quality and efficiency.
- Provide engineering support to all departments, follow-up on all relevant audit recommendations.
- The Maintenance Manager must compile plant safety standards, attend and participate in all plant meetings, especially safety meetings and maintenance meetings.
- Maintain current knowledge of organizational policies and procedures.
- Complies with all applicable safety requirements for the position and work environment, including rapid injury reporting.
- Organize workload throughout the day to meet project deadlines and deadlines.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- The Maintenance Manager must hold an Electrical Engineering degree or a degree from a relative field.
- Must come from a fresh meat production facility for over 7 years.
- Must have strong knowledge of OSHA, FDA AND GMP requirements as they pertain to maintenance activities at a food processing facility.
- Must have over 7 years of strong technical skills in manufacturing/ production processes and methods, including flow equipment, design, assembly, and production.
- Must be forklift, scissor lift certified.
- Must have at least 5 years of supervisory experience.
- Must be willing to train, coach, guide and perform hands-on tasks with the team.
- Quality orientation and attention to detail.
- Must have basic knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office (i.e., Excel, Word and Outlook)
- Must be flexible in shift and schedule.
- Must be willing to work in a cold environment and willing to lift to 60 lbs., as needed.
- Bilingual preferred.
- Other relative certifications are a bonus.
