JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee maintenance operations related to the installation and repair of all mechanical and electrical equipment used in production.
- Continuously drive improvements in maintenance systems by adopting and supporting the Maintenance Excellence program.
- The Maintenance Manager is responsible for ensuring the safety of company and contract personnel by implementing best safety practices, including LOTO, confined space protocols, electrical safety, Safety Concern Forms, and incident investigations.
- Implement and maintain a preventative maintenance program to ensure safe working conditions, minimize production downtime, and extend equipment life.
- Manage equipment inventories and order necessary parts.
- Consult with and obtain bids from outside contractors, coordinating closely with them
- Supervise and train Millwrights and LME apprentices in troubleshooting plant equipment.
- Lead and participate in the repair or rebuild of pellet mills, conveyors, screws, gearboxes, and chains, utilizing hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical troubleshooting expertise.
- Prioritize and assign maintenance tasks, track production downtime, and schedule maintenance activities, including weekend projects.
- Regularly update the Plant Manager on safety and maintenance issues and project progress.
- Engage in employee training and development programs.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have High school diploma or GED required.
- Must have 5+ years of journeyman-level experience.
- Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Experience in LME and Journeyman Millwright cards preferred.
- PLC knowledge and basic electrical understanding a plus.
- Project planning, PM program experience, and supervisory experience preferred.
