Responsibilities:
- The ideal Manual Machinist will observe machine operations, detect any malfunctions, and adjust as necessary.
- Use tools, equipment, and machinery such holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, mills, lathes, jig borers, grinders, and materials on machines.
- Resolve machining or assembly problems by communicating with engineers, production personnel, and CNC operators.
- Verify finished work and hold tolerances of .001.
- Supply own basic tools.
- Ensure routine maintenance is completed on all machinery.
- Help design engineers build production tooling and fixtures.
- Calculate and regulate machine factors, including zero and reference points, auto feeds, speeds, and feed.
- Complete production needs for fixturing, tooling, and making them Poka Yoke.
- Interpret drawing sketches and complex components.
- Maintain 6S and visual management tools.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent required.
- 10+ years of experience in a manufacturing or machine shop environment or related field.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Usage of basic computer skills.
- Ability to use a calculator and measuring device to provide basic math skills is required.
- Required to sit, stand, walk, bend, squat and kneel.
- Ability to work independently and in a team focused environment.
