RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The Manufacturing Engineer must conduct both new hire and refresher QIS training.
- Maintain the Quality Inspection System (QIS) and address all concerns in a timely manner.Â
- Must communicate between sales, production, and quality department to ensure that materials meet customer and internal acceptability standards.
- Must utilize QT9, develop and manage Production’s Training Program.
- Write work instructions and procedures for Manufacturing teams and equipment.
- Must ensure that disposition production holds and quality concerns of in-process material to appropriate parties.
- Must determine root cause and corrective actions of both internal and external rejected materials.
- Utilize various lean six sigma problem solving skills to accurately identify.
- Maintain the continuous improvement program and determine the feasibility, implementation of CI suggestions, the allocation and routing of material.
- Must collect, analyze, summarize, and present production and process data, information, and trends to management.
- Must generate reports, manual and automated, that effectively states of production via the department’s KPIs.
- The Manufacturing Engineer must collaborate with Engineering and Production regarding tooling life and design to ensure effective production methods.
- Schedule machine work as needed and recommend changes that lead to improvements in product quality, process effectiveness and lower cost of manufacture.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- The Manufacturing Engineer must have a high school degree or equivalent.
- Must have 5+ years of manufacturing experience.
- Must have 5+ years of lean management/ continuous improvement experience.
- Some experience in conducting training for a team.
- Must have basic computer and communication skills.
- Must be willing to work on-site.
