RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct patient evaluations to assess physical and cognitive abilities and limitations.
- Develop personalized treatment plans that outline goals and the strategies and interventions needed to achieve them.
- Implement therapeutic interventions to address deficits in occupational performance, utilizing evidence-based practices and therapeutic modalities.
- Educate patients and their families about strategies for coping with and managing disabilities.
- Recommend adaptive equipment and train patients in its use to enhance independence.
- Monitor and document patient progress, adapting treatment plans as necessary.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including physical therapists, speech therapists, doctors, and nurses, to provide holistic care.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to all professional, ethical, and legal requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Current state licensure as an Occupational Therapist.
- NBCOT certification is a must.
- Previous experience in occupational therapy, with a strong preference for candidates with experience in a rehabilitation setting.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to work effectively with patients, families, and team members.
- Proficiency in documenting patient care in electronic medical records.
- A compassionate and patient-focused approach to care.
- Ability to lift and move patients as required in the treatment process.
