RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversees all aspects of production operations, equipment maintenance, production control, materials planning, and other key value-chain activities.
- Ensures efficient production processes, manages the labor force, allocates resources effectively.
- Coordinates the execution of the value chain within the facility.
- Collaborate with the Production Control team to plan and execute both short-term and long-term production strategies.
- Supervise equipment maintenance activities to maximize uptime and ensure adherence to preventive maintenance schedules.
- Accountable for achieving production schedules, meeting delivery deadlines, controlling costs, maintaining product quality.
- Drives continuous improvement across operational processes.
- Directly manage the allocation of labor across various tasks, including scheduling cleaning, coating, and other production functions to ensure efficient use of resources.
- Oversee the timely production and shipment of high-quality products while keeping costs within budget.
- Provide support to Quality, Engineering, and Finance teams as needed, including implementing corrective actions.
- Assess operational processes to identify areas for improvement, leading projects to streamline and optimize performance.
- Continuously track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor manufacturing performance.
- Oversee all aspects of Production Control, including scheduling sales orders, updating order statuses, creating and managing work orders, and maintaining database records.
- Manage production performance to address quality issues, respond to out-of-spec conditions, and coordinate rework activities, such as baking, soaking, and other recovery processes.
- Ensure on-time delivery of goods, enforce company policies, and maintain effective labor relations while monitoring operational performance metrics.
- Foster a safe working environment by managing the Safety Committee, promoting safety awareness, and driving continuous safety improvements.
- Balance labor availability across functions, ensuring appropriate staffing levels and providing necessary training to meet production goals.
- Monitor and assess resource efficiency and utilization, ensuring capacity planning is aligned with production needs and driving ongoing improvement efforts.
- Other tasks as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is preferred.
- Over 5 years of manufacturing experience.
- Must have vacuum deposition experience from the following industries: glass, flexible plastic packaging, plastic bottles, glossy paper, polymer etc.
- APICS certification preferred.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Optics and thin film coating experience desired.
- Minimum 2 years of operational management experience.
