RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage and direct the daily activities of plant personnel, ensuring compliance with organizational policies, procedures, plans, and plant orders.
- Report any abnormal or emergency conditions to the Facility Manager and/or Operations Manager.
- Keep the Facility Manager informed about plant operations, particularly regarding any off-normal or emergency situations.
- Take immediate action to address and mitigate any abnormal operations or issues with plant systems or components.
- Oversee and coordinate plant activities, including the operation of processing and support systems and equipment.
- Contribute to the creation of operating procedures and training materials that support operational readiness, testing, startup, and continued operation of the DUF6 conversion facility.
- Conduct plant area inspections to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, plans, and plant orders, and report on plant conditions.
- Document plant operations to provide objective evidence of plant conditions and performance.
- Take control of plant systems to restore normal or safe conditions during abnormal or emergency situations, coordinating with emergency response personnel as needed.
- In the event of off normal or emergency conditions, transfer overall plant control to the Facility Manager and focus efforts on returning the plant to normal operations.
- Coordinate activities across various departments (maintenance, operations, health physics, etc.) during equipment outages or abnormal conditions.
- Regularly review and verify the qualification status of plant operations personnel to ensure only qualified individuals are responsible for plant operations.
- Prepare and distribute shift schedules, rotations, and personnel assignments for operations staff.
- Perform the duties of the Facility Manager as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- At least 2 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in the nuclear industry.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 (HSPD-12) credential.
