Responsibilities:
- Lead the development, training, and ongoing educational programs for the entire workforce within the Clinker and Cement Business Unit.
- Oversee the creation and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the Production Department.
- Monitor daily records, reports, statistical process control charts, quality parameters, and environmental compliance limits to ensure conformance to specifications, and coordinate necessary process adjustments.
- Manage work plans and schedules for employees assigned to the continuous production process operation, ensuring adequate training.
- Allocate resources for special projects within the plant or other departments as needed.
- Collaborate with Laboratory personnel to ensure product quality meets set parameters and make necessary adjustments to the process.
- Coordinate with Environmental, Purchasing, Maintenance, Safety, High Performance, and Process Control departments to maximize operational efficiency within the Operations Team.
- Manage cost control and contractor activities within the Production department, including all aspects of refractory management from scope definition to contractor selection and work execution.
- Serve as Control Room Leader during emergency situations.
- Interpret company policies and procedures for employees, conduct evaluations, and enforce safety regulations.
- Support High Performance System requirements, Continuous Improvement (CI) documentation, Material Transformation (MAT), and Procurement to Pay (P2P) initiatives.
- Design, recommend, and implement corrective measures, procedures, processes, or systems to enhance manufacturing efficiency, equipment performance, and product quality. Suggest improvements to the working environment to boost equipment utilization and department efficiency.
- Maintain and enforce a safe working environment, adhere to safety policies, supervise housekeeping in assigned areas, and ensure proper use of plant radios.
- Stay familiar with MSHA safety rules, plant mobile equipment safety procedures, lockout/tagout policy, confined space permit policy, hot work policy, emergency response plan, and procedures for handling environmentally sensitive materials according to the Waste Management Plan.
Qualifications:
- Must have a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
- Must have 10 years of Cement Manufacturing Experience.
- Must have experience in control room and engineering background.
- Proficient in database, internet, inventory, manufacturing, project management, spreadsheet, and word processing software.
- Completed Cement Manufacturing for Process Engineers course (PCA).
- Completed Cement Manufacturing course (PCA).
- Trained in Kiln operations (PCA).
- Trained in Mill operations (PCA).
- Must have Knowledge of pneumatics and basic hydraulics is preferred.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and adhere to established procedures.
- Must be capable of lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 50 pounds unassisted.
- Flexibility to work all shifts and respond to call-ins as needed
