RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise union and non-union staff in alignment with company policies, legal requirements, and union agreements. Responsibilities include training, planning, assigning tasks, directing, disciplining, rewarding, and appraising team members.
- Oversee the operation of production equipment, including evaporators, dryers, boilers, and generators. Ensure the proper operation, maintenance, and compliance of brine wells.
- Develop and manage daily work schedules and ensure the availability of resources and materials necessary for smooth production operations.
- Create and control departmental budgets, including approving expenditures.
- Set and achieve departmental Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), ensuring adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and Food Safety Compliance.
- Collaborate with all levels of staff to determine, schedule, and meet production requirements.
- Implement and uphold rigorous safety and housekeeping standards, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations and addressing any issues promptly.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field, with at least 8 years of relevant supervisory and manufacturing experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Proven ability to lead and manage a team of approximately 20 unionized and 4+ non-union employees. Capable of organizing, developing, and maintaining a skilled workforce to meet maintenance objectives.
- Flexibility to work 2nd or 3rd shifts as needed.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and basic to intermediate computer skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities, with the capacity to handle multiple priorities effectively.
- Skill in fostering teamwork and employee engagement through open and honest communication.
- Commitment to continuous improvement and positive change within the team.
