RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee the production process, planning and organizing production schedules to meet customer demand and inventory requirements.
- Assess project and resource requirements, estimating, negotiating, and agreeing on budgets and timescales with clients and managers.
- Ensure that the production is cost-effective and recommend measures to reduce costs and improve production efficiency.
- Implement and enforce strict quality control and safety measures, ensuring compliance with legal standards and company policies.
- Monitor production processes and adjust schedules as needed, resolving any issues that may arise during the production process.
- Work closely with quality control, warehouse, and maintenance staff to ensure products meet quality standards and are produced on time.
- Lead, coach, and motivate the production team, promoting a culture of excellence, teamwork, and professional development.
- Analyze data to find points of improvement in the production process, implementing strategies for improvement.
- Ensure that health and safety guidelines are followed, fostering a safe working environment.
- Report to upper management on production activities, efficiency, and potential issues.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a production management role within the meat processing or food manufacturing industry.
- Strong understanding of meat processing technologies, operations management, and quality standards (e.g., HACCP, USDA regulations).
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a high-performing team.
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization and external partners.
- Proficiency in production planning and inventory management software.
- Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changes in the work environment.
