RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Analyze production schedules and demands to identify product types, quantities, specifications, and delivery timelines for effective departmental planning.
  • Manage, assess, and optimize resources and schedules to ensure ongoing production with minimal downtime.
  • Lead the establishment, implementation, certification, and maintenance of ISO (International Organization for Standardization) standards.
  • Strike a balance between enhancing productivity and reducing manufacturing costs, including equipment usage, maintenance, modifications, and procurement.
  • Create workflow policies and procedures that enhance efficiency while ensuring safety and quality standards are met.
  • Develop, implement, and oversee quality control systems and standards to identify production issues promptly.
  • Execute cost control programs and procedures.
  • Establish and maintain a Production Documentation Management and record-keeping system.
  • Apply lean manufacturing and Process Excellence methodologies.
  • Identify and manage operational improvements to increase production volume, ensuring cost performance gaps are recognized, action plans are created, and resources are allocated effectively.
  • Monitor operational metrics (such as efficiency, yield loss, product quality, inventory accuracy, and transactional accuracy) to anticipate and address trends that could impact financial objectives.
  • Lead and motivate the production team to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products.
  • Foster a safe and clean work environment by educating and guiding staff on the proper use of control points, equipment, and resources, ensuring compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Perform other department-specific tasks as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or a related field to comprehend manufacturing processes.
  • 5 to 6 years of post-graduate experience in the manufacturing of scientific instruments is highly preferred.
  • Must be a hands-on leader with experience in managing production teams.
  • Strong knowledge of quality control practices.
  • Proven experience with ISO standards and certification processes.
  • Ability to quickly resolve production-related issues.
  • Familiarity with various industrial metal and plastic processes.
  • Proficient in reading engineering drawings and understanding GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
  • Strong vendor management skills with excellent communication abilities, capable of selecting vendors based on quality and cost criteria through thorough qualification.
  • Experience in MEMS or microfabrication is an advantage.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Adaptability to a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Ability to lift and carry boxes up to 40 lbs.
