RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of production workers, including scheduling, training, and assigning duties to ensure operational efficiency.
- Monitor production operations for compliance with specifications regarding quality, safety, and sanitary regulations, taking corrective actions as necessary.
- Implement and enforce strict safety and health practices among the workforce, including adherence to OSHA guidelines and company policies.
- Analyze production data, including volume, quality, and wastage reports, to identify trends and areas for improvement, implementing corrective actions to optimize production processes.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as maintenance, quality control, and logistics, to ensure smooth operation and timely resolution of issues.
- Participate in the development and implementation of production planning and scheduling to meet production targets and delivery deadlines.
- Conduct regular meetings with the production team to discuss performance, convey company updates, and address any issues or concerns.
- Assist in the development and implementation of training programs to enhance worker skills and knowledge, promoting a culture of continuous improvement.
- Manage inventory levels of raw materials and supplies, coordinating with procurement and warehouse teams to ensure adequate supply for production needs.
- Provide regular reports to management on production performance, challenges, and progress towards goals.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a supervisory role within the food processing industry, meat manufacturing experience highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of production processes, food safety regulations, and quality standards specific to the meat processing industry.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
- Proven ability to problem-solve and make decisions quickly and effectively.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with production management software.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment, managing multiple priorities.
- Flexibility to work different shifts, including evenings and weekends, as required by production needs.
