RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The Programming Controls Engineer must utilize the knowledge of PLC programming and electrical controls to perform to support New Equipment Build to produce the highest quality part at the lowest cost.
- Must support Divisional/Departmental Business plan objectives
- Must adhere to existing quality systems (i.e. TS and ISO)
- The Programming Controls Engineer must develop and implement control systems for production equipment.
- Perform production related process work.
- Support pre-production events including necessary travel and customer concerns as needed
- The Programming Controls Engineer must provide technical support to manufacturing for controls related work.
- Provide effective cross-divisional communication and scheduling of projects.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- The Programming Controls Engineer must have at least an Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- Must have at least 3-4 years of experience from automotive manufacturing background.
- Must have a thorough knowledge of PLC programming
- Ability to write, troubleshoot, and understand ladder logic
- Must be able to design and implement controls systems for new equipment, interpret technical instructions in drawing, or diagram form.
- The Programming Controls Engineer must be able to use Information Systems Tools
- Thorough knowledge of Toyota Production Systems (TPS), TS16949 and ISO14001
- Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret related technical documents, write reports, business correspondence, and procedures.
- The Programming Controls Engineer must respond to inquiries or complaints from customers and suppliers, effectively present information, use mathematical concepts, resolve problems etc.
- Must be able to apply “Go & See” principles
- Must be willing to travel in short notice
