RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • The Quality Engineer must be responsible to lead QA in continuous improvement activities to enhance the quality system such as 5-S, Kaizen, Lean manufacturing methods, etc.
  • Must assist in coordination and performance of business plan objectives.
  • Must support QA floor staff to ensure products and processes comply with the quality management system.
  • Develop, schedule, coordinate, implement, and manage quality testing plans to meet customer requirements for product and process validation in both pre-production and production stages.
  • Develop and maintain customer relations/meet customer PPM targets.
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing for problem solving and prevention of recurrence activities.
  • The Quality Engineer must represent the QA Department in internal problem-solving meetings to ensure quality system objectives are met.
  • Responsible for cost improvement activities (PEM) per assigned yearly goal of department business plan.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to develop, implement, maintain, and improve PFEMAs, Control Plans, and safe launch plans to ensure launch success.
  • Conduct audits, including product and process audits while determining proper corrective and preventative actions with Production / Tool room to prevent recurrence.
  • Compliance with existing quality system and ISO.
  • Must understand CMA processes and participate in CMA model cell activity to drive process stability.
  • The Quality Engineer must support New Supplier development to meet or exceed CMA quality expectations.
  • Develop, schedule, coordinate, implement, and manage quality testing plans to meet customer requirements for product and process validation in both pre-production and production stages.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to develop, implement, maintain, and improve PFEMAs, Control Plans, and safe launch plans to ensure launch success.
  • Confirm supplier PPAP submissions in compliance with CMA supplier expectation manual and CMA quality management system.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent combination of education or experience.
  • Toyota Production Systems or related system preferred.
  • TS16949 and ISO 9001-2015 experience or related experience preferred
  • Automotive manufacturing experience required
  • Language skills
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret related technical documents including part drawings.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, create PPAP documents, follow CMA’s quality management system, and procedure(s) & manuals.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, suppliers, and CMA personnel
  • Ability to effectively present information to customers, suppliers and co-workers.
  • Mathematical skills
  • Ability to use mathematical concepts as it applies to developing and analyzing data.
  • Reasoning ability
  • Ability to resolve problems through methodologies such as root cause analysis and countermeasure corrective actions.
  • Ability to understand the value of and implement preventative measures to avoid potential problems.
  • Ability to interpret technical instructions in drawing, mathematical, or diagram form.
  • Ability to distinguish between significant and trivial.
  • Physical demands
  • Ability to apply “Go & See” principles as it applies to your Essential duties and Job summary.
  • Travel required.
  • Ability to address issues and resolve problems under deadline constraints.
