RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for leading the R&D product development and product improvement projects.
- Must develop new or improved products utilizing existing or new raw materials.
- Must document test results in written reports.
- Must provide support to manufacturing team for scale up trials.
- Responsible for technical assistance and product recommendations to our technical service and commercial teams.
- Must assist lab personnel with technical service requests as needed
- Must assist in process development and improvements
- Must assist with QC method development.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Polymer Science, Materials Science, or related field of study is preferred
- 5+ years of experience as R&D Engineer/Development Engineer in polymer masterbatch, polymer compounding industry
- Must have experience with formulating, additives and properties of engineering thermoplastics such as Nylon, PET, polycarbonate, polycarbonate blends, ABS.
- Must have knowledge of processing methods used in the polymer masterbatch, polymer compounding industry
- Must have understanding of resins, additives and formulations used in polymer masterbatch and polymer compounding for polyolefins and engineering thermoplastics
- Must have experience working with lab analytical techniques such as FTIR, DSC, TGA, GC-MS and HPLC.
- Must have knowledge of flexible packaging, rigid packaging and injection molding converting processes.
