Responsibilities
- Inventory and Accounting Control: The Senior Cost Accountant oversees inventory and accounting functions for the assigned plant, reporting operational results and leading budgeting and financial analysis processes.
- Cost Accounting Leadership: Responsible for maintaining accurate records and robust internal controls, the Senior Cost Accountant leads all cost accounting activities within the plant.
- Standard Cost Ownership: Manages standard cost calculations, collaborating with plant personnel to ensure accurate bill of material maintenance and routings.
- Financial Analysis and Reporting: Prepares monthly financial analyses, including variance assessments, and contributes to improving the plant’s financial status by identifying trends and recommending profitable actions.
- Month-End Processes and Special Projects: Handles month-end closing tasks related to inventories and costs, assists with general accounting duties, and participates in special projects to enhance operational excellence.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
- Over 2 years of experience in Finance and manufacturing operations activities
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- 5+ years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
- Effective collaboration with individuals at all organizational levels
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with a focus on teamwork
- Preference for experience with Plex ERP
