RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Senior Tax Accountant will independently prepare, or reviews work of others, as applicable for all US consolidated corporate income tax returns (federal and state) and other related returns, including preparation or review of detailed workpapers supporting all tax return line items and related positions, all at an exceptionally high level of quality with need for limited changes upon higher level review.
- Must prepare and compute quarterly income tax estimates
- Must maintain general ledger balances of selected tax accounts, including performing related quarterly reconciliations.
- Must work closely with accounting and other groups to obtain and validate information for income tax preparation
- Must review and analyze tax books within the fixed asset system, including reconciliation of any GAAP books and tax books differences
- Must be responsible for optimizing state and federal business tax credits with limited guidance.
- Must assist with documentation and implementation of tax policies and procedures
- Must perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- Master's degree in Taxation and CPA very desirable
- Must have 4+ years of experience in the tax area. Experience at a public accounting firm is preferred.
- Must have extensive and proven independent experience in federal consolidated returns (preparation and review). Must have a multi-state tax background
- Experience with Thomson Reuters OneSource software a plus
- Experience with accounting for fixed assets and BNA Depreciation software a plus.
- Must have the ability to read and analyze financial reports and legal documents. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers
