RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Identify and address tooling-related problems, conducting root cause analysis to implement effective solutions.
- Review repair orders and production schedules to ensure timely tool availability and alignment with production commitments.
- Oversee tool room operations, prioritize tooling requirements, and coordinate activities to meet production schedules and quality standards.
- Address operational and manufacturing challenges to minimize costs and prevent delays in production.
- Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure tool room efficiency, quality, and performance.
- Implement strategies for cost reduction, continuous improvement, and process excellence, aligning them with departmental objectives.
- Develop, update, and enforce standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure consistency and compliance in tooling practices.
- Organize, store, and retrieve tooling data to maintain accurate records and facilitate informed decision-making.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and at required performance standards.
- Identify training needs, provide internal coaching, and arrange external training programs to enhance mold-making skills and support business objectives.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, defining deliverables, milestones, and timelines to ensure successful execution.
- Balance available resources to meet production and tooling needs efficiently.
- Ensure tooling processes adhere to regulatory standards and company policies.
- Work closely with the engineering team to incorporate features into new tooling that enhance product longevity and performance.
- Assist with resolving inter-departmental issues by designing, repairing, or manufacturing auxiliary equipment as needed.
- Support the identification and resolution of process-related issues that may impact tooling or production efficiency.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong knowledge of tooling systems, mold-making, and manufacturing processes.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex operational issues.
- Experience in managing projects, including timelines, budgets, and resources.
- Strong leadership and communication skills to guide teams and collaborate across departments.
- Familiarity with process improvement methodologies and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ability to develop and implement effective training programs.
- Knowledge of regulatory standards and compliance within manufacturing operations.
