RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The Veterinarian must perform basic surgeries, high volume high quality spay/neuter and emergency surgeries.
- Must perform outpatient/inpatient exams, case workup and make treatment plans as per the guidelines.
- Maintain accurate medical records.
- Manage outbreaks and prevention of outbreaks and isolate sick animals, etc.
- The Veterinarian must provide telemedicine and quick/efficient email/phone communications with caretakers.
- Must be flexible in shift, combination of week and weekend days for a total of 40-50 hours a week.
- Shifts are comprised of 4, 10-hour shifts per week.
- The Veterinarian will be on emergency call rotation with other veterinarians.
- Must be open to after-hours treatment when on call.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- The Veterinarian must hold a DVM degree and license to practice in Texas, who strives to do whatever is needed to promote lifesaving.
- Must have 5+ years of experience as a Veterinarian.
- Must have previous shelter experience and be empathetic towards animals.
- Surgical skills and surgical confidence are preferred.
