RESPONSIBILITIES:
- The VP Accounting must monitor the organization’s cash flow and real estate development capital needs.
- Manage the insurance programs for the company and projects, including annual audits.
- Assist with project lending and oversee the drawing process.
- Must manage project reporting for approximately 25 partnerships and oversee investor distributions and cash calls.
- Administer cash management and maintain corresponding banking relations.
- The VP Accounting must help facilitate the tax process for all company-managed entities, which includes approximately 25 Partnerships, LLCs, and S-Corporations.
- Support outside CPA firms in preparing annual tax returns by providing needed schedules and other information.
- Develop tax strategies and facilitate tax planning.
- Direct all Franchise Tax filings and payments.
- Manage the annual budget process for corporate operating companies and real estate projects.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- VP Accounting must hold a Bachelor’s degree. Master’s preferred.
- CPA desired.
- Must have 8-10 years of commercial real estate accounting experience.
- Must have experience with commercial property management software. MRI, YARDI and Timberline are preferred.
- Must have a solid understanding of real estate partnership investment related to development, construction, and property management.
- Must have 5+ years of supervisory experience.
- Must have excellent analytical and mathematical skills are required.
- Proficiency in computer skills and knowledge of office software packages (Microsoft Office Suite – Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Must be willing to work onsite full-time.
