RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Implement measure to reduce scrap and downtime
- Implement measures to increase production throughput
- Ensure adherence to 5S procedures
- Assign scope of work to welders
- Ensure necessary equipment is on hand
- Ensure adequate materials are on hand
- Assist with major company improvement projects
- Ensure safety regulations
- Oversee all activities relating to welding activities for 1st
- Manage 1st shift of welders and ensure procedures are followed correctly
- Ensure adherence to quality control standards
- Schedule welding activities based on production needs
- Signoff of payroll hours
- Analyze customer demand to determine production plan
- Participate and encourage continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure clean and organized work environmentÂ
- Monitor welding process
- Ensure safety of welders on 1st shift
- Conduct non-destructive testing and visual tests of welded components
- Analyze and cultivate improvements to welding procedures
- Coordinate efforts with engineering, production and maintenance teams
- Ensure adequate training for welders
- Maintain updated documentation of work performed
- Schedule subcontractors as needed
- Supervision of employees in the department including
- Conduct yearly performance reviews and implement corrective action when necessary
- Other tasks as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate’s degree or Technical certification required
- Ideal Welding Supervisor will have minimum 3 years’ experience
- Welding certification desired
- Must have experience managing team within weld or fabrication environment
- Familiarity with AWS D1
- Experience implementing LEAN principles
- Aluminum welding experience
- Customer service experience
- Willing to take a drug screen and complete a background check
